Coming up on their second anniversary in Canada, they’ve adjusted incredibly well to their new home. The eldest son started in ESL on arrival and has picked up English to the point he’ll soon begin high school equivalency courses, and has identified the college course he’s aiming for. In addition to ESL he’s been working full time the past year. Their daughter and younger son both made the honour roll at their high school and each has plans for university. One worked two jobs this past summer, while the other completed two online credit courses in order to graduate sooner.
As we’ve said many times, our greatest contribution to the children of our sponsored families is to help their parents position each of them for a happy and successful future in their adopted country.
